Band Booster Meeting Monday, Senior Night, and SIU Homecoming

We have a Band Booster meeting at 7:30 PM in the Band Room at CCHS on Monday, October 19, 2015. There are a few things that really impact the parents and students that will be covered, so please join us.

Things we'll be covering include:
  • Mr. Townsend will have information about how the band did at the contests we attended; quite a bit has happened since the last meeting.
  • Our Treasurer has updated the Student Accounts and they have been posted to MarchingTerriers.com. Again, there are many students in the red. Please check your student's account and if you have any questions, our Treasurer will be on hand tomorrow to answer them.
  • We'll be checking in with our fundraising committees. Fruit and Poinsettia Sales packets go home with students on Monday; if you have any questions or concerns, we can get those answered for you tomorrow night, too.
There's a handful more business to cover but our goal is for the meeting to last no more than an hour.

This week's (busy) band schedule:
  • Monday: Band Booster Meeting at 7:30 PM.
Students bring home Fruit & Poinsettia Sales Packets.
  • Tuesday: the last Tues night rehearsal 6-9 PM.
  • Friday: Senior Night! 5:30 PM Call Time for the Seniors; Senior Parents are welcome as well. Get your photo with your Senior Student! Guard and Battery at 5:30 PM; 6:00 PM all other sections.
  • Saturday: SIU Homecoming Parade here in Carbondale. 8:00 AM Call Time at CCHS. Eat breakfast and be ready to perform in full uniform.
Thanks!

Newton/Robinson Saturday, Jazz/Strings Concert Thursday, and Oh, Some EIU Pics.

Here's the schedule for this week, a little late because the itinerary got complicated:
  • Tuesday: 6-9 PM Rehearsal. Check the weather, and encourage your student to dress for a chillier weather; we will still be practicing outside. No rehearsal on Thursday (Thursday rehearsals are over for the season).
  • Thursday: Jazz and Strings Concert: The Carbondale Terrier Music Program presents our first concert for the Jazz and Strings programs. Come listen to what they've been working on! Call Time for student performers is 6:30 PM; Free concert in the auditorium at 7:00 pm.
  • Saturday*: Robinson/Newton Double Header: There are 2 contests that we will attend on October 10, 2015. We have performed at both before. Newton is on the way to Robinson and is an afternoon event, Robinson is 30 minutes up the road and is an evening event.
  • Students need show shirts, shorts, black socks, tennis shoes, band polo. May bring sweats/jacket for evening (black, CTM logo preferred).
  • Eat breakfast before the morning call time of 8:00 AM! Pack a lunch for the bus ride up to Newton.
  • The Band Boosters will be buying pizza for dinner! In Robinson, the band will stop at the park for dinner. We have arranged for pizza to be delivered, we'll bring fruit and drinks with us, too.
  • We need COOKIES! We need 20 dozen cookies altogether for desert. Email President@marchingterriers.com to let Carol Brandenburg know how many dozen cookies you can send with your Marcher on Saturday. Please send the cookies on paper plates or in a disposable container.
  • Students will arrive home late, about 12:15 AM. Buses will need to be fully unloaded before students are released. Help out if you can!
*Updated Itinerary for Newton/Robinson is here, posted on our website, and detailed in the Google calendar.

Also... New pictures from last week's EIU event are up on the website.  Thanks to Jonathan Springer and Mindy Jarboe for their visual donations.

Cookies for the Robinson/Newton Event on Saturday

Update:

We have had an amazing response to the cookie request. We have enough cookies for each Marcher. Thanks to everyone who responded so promptly. The kids are going to be very happy.

If you responded by contacting us, just send the cookies in on Saturday with your Marcher. I will be there to collect them at my truck at call time.

Thank you.

Original Post:

We need your help feeding the Marching Terriers COOKIES on Saturday. A specific itinerary will come out soon but here are the basics. They are going to have two competitions on Saturday, one in Newton in the early afternoon and a second one in Robinson in the evening. In between, they are going to have a picnic in the park in Robinson. We are having pizza delivered and are bringing fruit and drinks. We need your help with COOKIES. We would like to have 20 dozen cookies so that each student can have 2 cookies. I know that seems like a lot of cookies but if 20 parents each bring in a dozen, we have happy Marchers!

Please email me at President@marchingterriers.com to let me know how many cookies you can send with your Marcher on Saturday. Please send the cookies on paper plates or on some type of disposable container.

Thank you for supporting our Marching Terriers!
