Band Booster Meeting Highlights from Apr 20, 2015

From Mr. Townsend:
  • Branson Trip:  This coming weekend is the Branson Trip.  Students attending must be at school, with their gear, at 7:30 am on Friday.
  • The IHSA Organizational Festival last weekend was a tremendous success.  The Concert Band received 119.9 out of a possible 120, and the Jazz Band scored 148 out of 150 possible points. Both bands received great compliments and comments from the judges.  This was the last IHSA event for the season, and with all points calculated, the CCHS Band Program is ranked 2nd in the state in 2015!  This makes the 5th year in a row that CCHS has taken one of the top two spots in the rankings! Congratulations to Mr. T and the Bands!
  • Summer Marching Band Practice: Tuesday nights 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM starting June 9th.
Events and Fundraising:
  • Reservations are now being taken for the Awards Banquet, May 11th, at the Civic Center.  The banquet is only 3 short weeks away!  Reservations are closing a little earlier this year, so that 2 Domestic Divas can coordinate with CCHS in providing meals, which will help save on the catering costs.
  • Christmas Tree Fundraiser:  The Christmas Tree Lot Committee is looking for 4 new members. Parents of incoming Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are needed to share the work and carry on this popular fundraiser. Requires some work for about 2 months in the fall.  Email Carol Eaton-Brandenburg at president@marchingterriers.com if you are willing to help.
  • Ongoing Fundraisers:
  • 2-Click:  Remember to use 2-Click Fundraising for your online purchases; the band gets a cut of the profits on your purchases, without additional cost to you.
  • Quatro's $10 Gift Cards are still available for purchase. Email Carol Eaton-Brandenburg at president@marchingterriers.com if you would like some.
  • Larry's House of Cakes Cards are still available for purchase for $10. Each card is good for a dozen treats (cookies, cupcakes, or brownies).  Email Carol Eaton-Brandenburg at president@marchingterriers.com if you would like some.
Booster Business:
  • Treasurer:  All the Branson trip students are paid up.  Some of the payments out have not been made yet, but they are accounted for and on track to be paid.
  • Finance Committee and Annual Budget:  The Finance Committee presented the budget for expected expenses 2015-16.  Some expenses that have not been tracked in the past have been added into this year's considerations, so the budget appears larger, but is basically the same. We will be voting on it at the May meeting.
  • National Booster Club Training Council (NBCTC): Our membership has not quite come though, but the check is in the mail and Carol Eaton-Brandenburg is checking on it daily.  Once it goes through and our membership is confirmed, the president will cancel the old insurance as discussed at the March meeting.
