Itinerary for SIU Homecoming Parade, Senior Night Reminder

This week the Terriers will be playing against Harrisburg on Friday at home on Senior Night. 

 
Saturday is SIU Homecoming! The parade this year starts later than last year, so the Call Time was revised to 9:00 AM.


Our schedule:

• Friday: Senior Night! 5:30 PM Call Time for the Seniors; Senior Parents are welcome as well. Get your photo with your Senior Student! Call Times for undergraduate Guard and Battery at 5:30 PM; 6:00 PM all other sections.

• Saturday*: SIU Homecoming Parade here in Carbondale. UPDATED! 9:00 AM Call Time at CCHS. 

• Students: Eat breakfast before Call Time and be ready to perform in full uniform. 

• Parade starts at 11:00 AM

• Route: Up S. Illinois Ave at Mill, Over on College, and Down S. University, then S. Illinois to the SIU Campus/Lincoln Dr. Ends at the new Student Services Building. Check out the parade route PDF available at MarchingTerriers.com.

• Pick up for all students is at CCHS at 1:00 PM.

Marching Terriers Annual Fruit & Poinsettia Sale

The CCHS Marching Terriers have held this fundraiser for years! This sale is one of the THE BEST ways to bump up that student band account, so please support your student in making sales. Also, this sale is very good at attracting easy repeat customers, so every effort this year will most likely pay off next year as well.

Our students' customers look forward to this opportunity to support the band, and it offers students a great way to increase their student band accounts. The student band accounts help pay for band camp, uniforms, and trip expenses. Approximately half of the profit from fruit sales ($6-7 depending on the specific product), plus $3 per poinsettia, will be deposited into students’ band accounts. The remainder is deposited into the Band Booster account, which is used for food during marching season, equipment expenses, and more.

Fruit (Oranges and Grapefruit)

Our citrus fruit comes fresh from Florida Indian River Groves. Their product is of consistently high quality and we will again offer navel oranges and red grapefruit in both 20- and 40-pound boxes, as well as 20- and 40-pound mixed boxes of oranges and grapefruit. Customers have the option of placing their orders online using a credit card (a $1 processing fee is applied to each online order).

Fruit is picked the day before it is shipped to CCHS.  It is very fresh, and lasts quite nicely.

Poinsettias

Poinsettias at the Mioux Greenhouse, Nov 2014

Our poinsettias come from Mioux Greenhouse, located in Carlyle, IL. We will have plants available in red, white, and “ice-punch” – a beautiful pink-and-cream mixture. The poinsettias come in 6 ½” pots with foil wrap and a plastic sleeve – gift-ready!

Band Booster Meeting Monday, Senior Night, and SIU Homecoming

We have a Band Booster meeting at 7:30 PM in the Band Room at CCHS on Monday, October 19, 2015. There are a few things that really impact the parents and students that will be covered, so please join us.

Things we'll be covering include:

• Mr. Townsend will have information about how the band did at the contests we attended; quite a bit has happened since the last meeting. 
• Our Treasurer has updated the Student Accounts and they have been posted to MarchingTerriers.com. Again, there are many students in the red. Please check your student's account and if you have any questions, our Treasurer will be on hand tomorrow to answer them.
• We'll be checking in with our fundraising committees. Fruit and Poinsettia Sales packets go home with students on Monday; if you have any questions or concerns, we can get those answered for you tomorrow night, too.

There's a handful more business to cover but our goal is for the meeting to last no more than an hour.

This week's (busy) band schedule:

• Monday: Band Booster Meeting at 7:30 PM.
  Students bring home Fruit & Poinsettia Sales Packets.
• Tuesday: the last Tues night rehearsal 6-9 PM.

CCHS Homecoming and SIU Music & Motion

This week is CCHS Homecoming! 

The Terriers play against rival Marion on Friday at home. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Our schedule:

• Friday: Home game vs. Marion. Call time 5:30 for Guard, Battery; 6:00 pm for Pit, Winds. 50/50 Raffle, Quatros and Larry's House of Cakes $10 gift certificates sold at Bleyer Field by the Band Boosters. Come cheer us on!

• Saturday*: SIU Music & Motion - Call time 9:30 AM (Eat Breakfast before), performance at 1:00 PM, return to CCHS around 2:30 PM.

• Students need show shirts, shorts, black socks, tennis shoes, band polo.

• You may sign your student out at SIU with a bus chaperone after their uniform is put away.
